The Project
Desa Glass is a Calgary based company that fabricates and installs architectural aluminum products to meet a variety of structural and aesthetic demands. They also provide innovative glazing solutions for the new and retrofit construction markets and offer a variety of in-house services such as designing, engineering, developing, testing, and manufacturing products for complex building envelope systems. They have been in the industry for a long time, and had a severely out of date website that was difficult to update and didn’t aesthetically represent their professionalism and experience. It was also lacking clear information about their extensive product line, and didn’t provide a simple way to understand how their products can be used.
They approached us to redesign their existing website and modernize their online presence. After analysing their content, we strategized a streamlined approach to organizing their content and linking their product catalog and past project showcase. By linking their two main areas of expertise, potential customers could better understand use cases for their products and services, as well as browse their extensive portfolio of high-profile projects.
Our Approach
We decided to develop their new website on a WordPress platform, so they could internally maintain the website and easily add new projects as they are completed, and link them to products used. We focused on creating a clean, corporate visual design using lots of strong imagery and simple motion effects to make the site eye-catching so they stand out among competitors. The simple navigation and revised copy makes it easy to understand their offerings. We are really happy with how their new website turned out.
